Susan Charters has over 27 years experience in corporate finance, primarily in the treasury and capital markets areas. Her most recent experience was at The Clorox Company, where she spent 23 years in increasingly responsible positions in the Treasury function, serving as Vice President- Capital Markets. Her responsibilities spanned all the classical Treasury functions, including foreign exchange, cash management, short and long term financing, corporate insurance and risk management as well as oversight of pension and profit sharing plan investments. In her Treasury role, she developed and managed a number of innovative tax efficient strategies to manage various Clorox risk exposures as well as to provide enhanced cash flow and earnings. Among these, she negotiated and managed four separate COLI tranches for informal funding of employee benefit obligations, including deferred compensation and SERP. She also established and managed Chesapeake Assurance Limited, a captive reinsurer that supports Clorox’s global risks. Prior to joining Clorox, Ms. Charters was employed in the finance function at a major computer manufacturer. She also has several years experience in the internal audit function of a major leasing company as well as two bank holding companies. Ms. Charters received her BS in Business Administration from Georgetown University, and she holds an MBA in Finance from George Mason University. |
